As the greatest day of the year approaches, I thought I would use my free time to do a little research for some inspiration to get everyone in the mood. I found a few clips to share with everyone that I think will help.

And if any of you want to consider going back to tackle this year, please understand I have been training for months and have a video preview of what would occur if we did so:

New Season, new ideas, new contributor
Well, like a baby in the womb for 47 weeks, this is long overdue. Lets ease into this:
- In an attempt to make the game more fun, there is talk of bringing the game back to an old school feel so that everyone pretty much knows everyone that is playing. No offense to friends and coworkers that have shown up in the past, but the consensus feeling was that it's no fun to get your ass handed to you by people you don't even know. (i.e. I have no chance to dominate when ringers show up...ringers that are in shape) Even if it's 6 on 6 I think everyone would like the oppurtunity to have fun, and have a chance to touch the ball. (insert your own joke) Let me know if I'm misreading the off season chatter, but this is the feeling that I got.
- Lets get an early count of who is playing and who isn't so we can pick teams ahead of time. So how about we get some commitments by Nov. 12. That's doable right? I'm not saying you can't show up if you didn't commit by that time, but it adds a new element of game planning and trash talking if we can establish the teams in advance.
- In an attempt to keep him from going insane, Lewis will be tossing some content up here in the very near future. Should be full of talk of the "U" and other things that will make you wanna barf, but at least you won't be looking at a 11 month outdated post.
Ideas for polls, content, and other features are always welcome.*

Roster's Filling Out...
...so are my pants.
1. Anthony
2. Chris
3. Me
4. Ty
5. Chad
6. Norm
7. Mike J.
8. Lewis
9. Hogg
10. Kurtis
11. Chris's Co-workers (x 4)
12. Ira
13. Dave K. (confirmed!)
So right now, we're looking about 8 on 8. These numbers always fluctuate, but this is looking pretty healthy right now.
The only part-timers that I haven't heard from are Ben, Dan, and Simmons.
I'm finally getting pumped. Today is my last day of work for a while and I'll be able to focus on punishing some girly men.

Flag Reflex
Oh hey...me again. It appears as if the flags I used last year are no longer easily accessible. What I'm trying to say is I can't find them. No worries, because I may have found something better.
Hopefully this is cool with everyone. If not, I don't really care. Hope everyone is saving adequate room for their Turkey tomorrow. (and Pizza Town on Friday)
Not sure how everyone feels about this, but I found plenty of these versions of flags...the kind I'm used to...where the actual flag rips away from the belt. (plus they have the NFL logo on them) So they must be good.

Rule Violations
I may or may not remember last years rules correctly, and wanted to get a general consensus. Apparently the rules we played last year, that I had previously posted, are incorrect.
So does this sound about right:
- "Tackle" by use of flags in all situations, excpet...
- When sacking a QB behind line of scrimage, you are required to tackle, not pull flag
How does that sound? I'm always up for more rule tinkering...(and by rule tinkering, I mean role playing with my favorite pork products)
Speaking of pork products, there's a poll to your right...play along won't you?
Site Update, etc.
As you can see we have a fresh, clean new look here at M-burg Turkey Bowl. Hopefully all this work is worth it for the 3 weeks of the year we use this site. We may have to start incorporating some of these graphics on to T-shirts.
There should be a new feature on the right showcasing the weather for Fisher Field. I'm currently seeing mixed reports. Some calling for 40-50% chance of showers, others just for clouds.
As you may or may not know, this is a rain or shine event. Weather conditions always make for a more memorable game.
Many moons ago, we had a snow game. It was poorly attended. I hauled in many long TD's. True story.
